I grew up with Hip-Hop. It got me through tough times. I love it for everything it is and isn’t. Even the artists that I don’t follow; I can respect. It’s a music for dreamers.

That being said… I was born in Chicago so I have an admiration for the music that comes from my city. I’m currently a student majoring in Journalism/Advertising at Indiana University. I will graduate in May, which is exciting because I’m ready for the next step. I’ve been listening to Hip-Hop for about 10 years, but like my colleague “Biggie” I’ve expanded my musical horizon to other genres.I love to see them fuse together and create unique shit.

Im an ambitious person. I’m writing a book, which I hope to have finished by the end of 2010. I’m designing a clothing line with my good friend, Panos, and working on a photography and graphic design portfolio. I also write for another blog called, “Reflections on Character”.

Writing is my thing. It keeps me at peace with the world.

My inspiration for this site came from reading album reviews in music magazines and thinking, “What the fuck is that guy talking about?” I just wanted to tell them my side. Music is such a personal thing. People collect different meanings from it. I enjoy listening to what people have to say and learn more as a result.

I hope you enjoy this resource and that it becomes a site you check frequently and contribute to. Biggie and I are dedicated to providing opinions backed by fair reasoning… something I think is missing in our media today.

Peace & Love.

meeFor beginners, it’s pretty clear given my name why I’m drawn to the world of Hip-Hop.  Notoriously (get it?) I have been handed the nickname “Biggie”‘; even at the workplace.

I was born in the burbs of Chicago.  My ear for Hip Hop really picked up in the last 6 years but I have been a listener of all genres for quite some time.  Hip Hop has a crazy way of incorporating sounds from genres all over the world so it certainly helps to have heard everything from country to jazz in the past.

I currently work in baseball for the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yankees, Triple A Affiliate of the NYY.  I handle corporate ticket sales so being a good listener first and foremost is critical.  It’s a strange combination, baseball and blogging about Hip Hop, but entertainment in general is my passion.  My dream would to be in the studio with artists and market their talent as they progress.

I hope you enjoy my opinions but certainly don’t expect everyone to agree.  I am excited for the challenge of hearing music in different ways after reading your opinions.  I feel with the help of our viewers I’ll be able to learn just as much from the masses as you do from me.

Toss on a pair of headphones whether they be from Wal-Mart or the Colorware Beats by Dr. Dre. Plug ‘em in, listen, and speak your mind; that’s what this is here for.
